Interesting, however, I'm sure we, in europe, will get castrated models, as usuall. :\

Sorry to hear that. This one came from Japan. We'll be getting the BDR-211U soon here in the U.S. I imagine it will be inferior to the S11 also.

It has always been so since I can remember ...
In Japan models or DVD or BluRay Axx-J \ Sxx-J always much more expensive compared to the other versions.
And if you have done in Japan in the factory Towada Japan .... that are already highly sought after and paid dearly.

Personally I prefer to pay more and to be sure device I bought isn't castrated. @czary2mary do we have, here, possibility to buy Japanese models?

After the Japan only purchase by Ebay, Amazon, and intermediaries such BayJapan.

Nice burn. :P I uderstand now more reliable is using Flash Drives/Memory Cards but this is not a reason to make poor quality burners. I'd love to have this Plextor. :D

I don't sleep very much. :) But you're right, it takes a LONG time to scan Blu-ray, especially BD-R DLs.
