Problem z nagrywarką DVD - raz nagrywa, raz nie

Witam,
Od maja b.r. jestem posiadaczem nagrywarki DVD Asus 1608P, która do pewnego czasu nagrywała mi bardzo dobrze płyty, a teraz zrobiła się kapryśna. Mam paczkę płyt DVD TDK DVD-R (1-8x), które gdy je kiedyś kupowałem luzem świetnie się nagrywały, a z tymi z paczki są ciągle problemy. Raz się nagrywają, a raz nie. Z tego względu zmarnowałem już z tej paczki co najmniej 7-8 płytek. Nagrywam za pomocą programu Nero Burning ROM 6.6.0.12 i w przypadku błędu instalacja zatrzymuje się przeważnie na 1%, potem próbuje iść dalej, ale po ok. 2 minutach wyskakuje błąd i płytka do wyrzucenia.
Aha, używam Windowsa XP Professional z SP2.
Nie wiem co mam zrobić, miejsce na dysku już mi się kończy i muszę je jakoś zwolnić.
Zastanawiam się czy powodem nie jest przypadkiem zbytnie zajęcie systemu, ale w Menedżerze zadań widzę, że mam dużo wolnej pamięci. Nero zaktualizowałem do wersji 6.6.0.18 i dwie płytki nagrały się prawidłowo, a w następnym dniu kolejne dwie już z błędami.

Jeszcze jedna ciekawostka. Przetestowałem programem Nero prędkość dysków i wyszły mi bardzo różne wyniki.

Jest to jeden dysk 120 GB, podzielony na 4 partycje.
