I would like to thank Dr. Gough Lui (https://goughlui.com/) for sending me this rare disc. A now-rare disc was manufactured directly in Japan by TDK. TDK very quickly abandoned its own disc production and, shortly after manufacturing these discs, switched to an OEM model where it supplied necessary materials and manufacturing know-how to other manufacturers.
This is a disc intended for the Japanese market, and despite its age and the obscurity of the MID code, a relatively new Blu-ray burner managed to write to it at 4x the speed for which the disc was intended, with quite good results. I believe that with an optimal burner, we could reach the theoretically lowest possible error rates, as the disc is of extremely high quality.
