Crossflash BDR-209EBK to BDR211EBK
Sorry for typing in English but I am having a weird problem. What I read from the internet it should be then possible to flash the Pioneer BDR-209EBK to the Pioneer BDR-211EBK and it should read UHD Discs.
My PIO has the following info as attached. Now my problem: I can extract the firmware and kernel from my PIO for Hardware Revision 8600. But when I extract the firmware from the PIO 211EBK v1.53, I get the kernel and firmware from Hardware Revision 8801 but for Hardware Revision 8800 only the Firmware is extracted but not the Kernel itself. Thye filesize of the package "11T_BDR-211EBK_UBK_FW153EU.exe" suggests that there should be more in the file than just the firmware. The same happens with "8800BDR-211EBK_UBK_FW152EU.EXE", only the firmware is extracted. Did I do something wrong? Edit: Does it matter whether I flash a Hardware Revision 8800/8801 for HW Revision 8600? Cheers Tom Ostatnio zmieniany przez Tom886 : 13.05.2023 o godz. 09:22 |

So, I made some tests and extracted all available firmware's.
Looks like Pioneer added the Kernel for the 211EBK starting from FW 1.52 but only for SAT8801. The same for the 209EBK, before FW1.52 was no Kernel File included. So, just for test, I downgraded my 209EBK to FW1.50, then 1.34 and now to FW1.20 (I guess that's the original one). However, BDRFlash refuses to crossflash (even with FW1.20) with the message "Drive and firmware hardware types don't match". What do I miss? Do I have to modify the firmware that it is accepted? Cheers Tom |

After years of absence I found the old cdrinfo forum closed.
Google translate or firefox translate helped abit to find this one. Now my intention: I have an old Pioneer S09 and was advised to crossflash to a S11 drive (for UHD friendly behavior). But nowhere found instructions or tools to crossflash. can you point me to an understandable guide and download links? |

Greetings jadburner,
I just tried two times to send you some pics in a PM, but didn't found sent message, so I try again here (without pics). Yes, i would like to crossflash a Pioneer BDR-S09XLT into some kind of S11 to become UHD-friendly (Sat8600, ID43, FW 1.34, Sata) After looking in my old lab, I found several other Pioneer drives. Maybe you can give me some further hints to improve them (maybe UHD-friendly too, crossflash to newer models and so on). Pioneer BDR-X12EBK (Sat9000, ID56, FW 1.03, USB) Pioneer BDR-XS07TUHD (Sat8E21, ID05, FW 1.01, USB SlotIn) Pioneer BDR-UD04 (Sat8A10, IDGeneral?, FW 1.14, USB - Verbatim 43888) Pioneer BDR-S08XLT (Sat8301, ID43, FW 1.50, Sata) Regards and thanks in advanceWishbringer |

Greetings jadburner
crossflash from Pioneer BDR-S09XLT to Pioneer BDR-211M worked. Product-Code is still BRD-S09XLT, but Kernel and Firmware are shown as SAT8800 ID60. I thank you for your help! Regards Wishbringer |

Any reason why you don't flash S0x drives to S11?

confirmed UHD-friendly "Pioneer BDR-211UBK Internal 5.25 sata Rip speed 4x BD 66 ~1 Hour BD 100 ~1 hour 35mins" I don't see any S11 as UHD-friendly drives. Got corresponding firmware from jadburner |

Ah, ok. I think the S11 should be UHD friendly, too. At least the S11 drives come with UHD support, so I wouldn't know any reason why they wouldn't be.
