Crossflash Pioneer PR1ME-L

Przepraszam, nie znam języka polskiego, więc użyłem tłumacza, aby wyrazić moje myśli.
Posiadam nagrywarkę z serii Pioneer PR1ME, z której korzystam od pewnego czasu i nagrałem już kilka płyt. Wiem, że Pioneer ma również napęd z serii MC (PR1ML), który nie nagrywa płyt, ale służy do testowania jakości nośników. Chciałbym wykonać crossflash z wersji ME na MC, aby móc sprawdzić jakość płyt, które już nagrałem.


Odkryłem, że oba modele korzystają z tej samej architektury sprzętowej SAT 8801, różnią się jedynie identyfikatorem (ME to ID87, MC to ID88). Uważam więc, że crossflash powinien być teoretycznie możliwy.


Udało mi się wyodrębnić firmware kernel oraz normal z oficjalnego instalatora (BDX-PR1MC-L_FW105EU). Następnie spróbowałem za pomocą modyfikacji assemblera pominąć sprawdzanie modelu w programie aktualizacyjnym. Ostatecznie udało mi się wgrać jedynie kernel (ponieważ po zmianie ID urządzenie rozpoznawane jest jako PR1ML), ale napęd nie uruchamia trybu normal. Podejrzewam, że kernel zawiera dodatkową logikę weryfikującą.


Próbowałem wielu metod — włącznie z napisaniem własnego narzędzia flashującego w Pythonie — ale bez sukcesu. Chciałbym prosić Was o pomoc. Czy ktoś wie, jak można prawidłowo przeprowadzić crossflash? Będę bardzo wdzięczny za wszelkie wskazówki!

I'm not aware that this crossflash is possible but wait until jadburner responds. If you have a full size LG / ASUS drive with the MT1959 chip you can flash it to WH16NS58 1.V5 to do those quality checks.

Currently, this is not possible. These BDE / BDX / WX01DM drives with SAT8801 hardware from this series have some kind of certificate/verification signature in ROM. The kernel and firmware can be installed, but they do not return from kernel mode to operating mode (Normal).

Currently, this is not possible.

As Coopervid indicated, if you want to perform disc quality scans, your best bet is to find an LG MT1959 based drive and crossflash it to a WH16NS58. MT1959 drives are becoming hard to find at reasonable prices, but you can still find some.

Yes, we have also received confirmation of the halted production. There are still some drives available on eBay, but supply is drying up fast.

Thank you all for your help. I disassembled both drives and found that their PCB layouts are identical (even the serial numbers). Therefore, the ROM mentioned by czary2mary may refer to the AR15F6 chip on the PCB, which is suspected to be a ROM chip.

This chipset R8j32740fp42 is renesas RX24T family it needs debbuger for connecting to PC there is whole evaluation studio for it as there might be out_tro command. It possibly can be unlocked as there is access to whole memory even protected areas, however costs are ~300$ per unit plus you have to resolder ~100pin chip from evaluation module to drive PCB possibly multiple times so clip would be recommended. Faster and cheaper is to get LG drive.
