Dziś Pioneer poinformował o najnowszym modelu Ultra HD Blu-ray.

Pioneer zapowiedział premierę na japońskim rynku pod koniec lutego ( BDR-S11J-BK" ~22,000 yen ($195) \ "BDR-S11J-X" ~35,000 yen ($310))
Jeżeli mniej więcej plan dystrybucji będzie podobny jak w przypadku poprzednich modeli to najpierw będą następne modele dostepne w USA\Kanada\Australia a potem bogate kraje Europy a potem my ...czyli może za jakieś 4~~6 miesięcy..
Co do wersji z eleganckim panelem to zapewne będzie europejska wersja Pioneer BDR-S11XLT . Na razie oficjalne informacje dotyczą tylko japońskich wersji i ich rynku..

You can see that in the BDR-S11J-X added only CD tab. It looks like Audio Optimized Write-known models Pioneer DVR.

I wonder if transmission x14 for BDR DL 50GB is realistic to achieve?
This is a very high write speed for the BDR-DL 50GB

This is what happens when you try to write at 14x but don't set the high speed recording mode.

But even this great class x12 Pioneer hardware and firmware for overspeed

When I set the high speed burning option, ImgBurn successfully sets the write speed at 14x, but the drive burns at only 8x.

So it looks that only theoretically overspeed is possible for such large transmission BD-R DL 50GB.
It is possible that some other media fail to record a little faster but it's hard for a better carrier of BD-R DL 50GB as Panasonic \ MEI ! ?

Lots of testing still to go, but so far they're looking pretty good. I agree about the x09 series, in fact I usually get better burns on the x08 drives.

I tried a burn @ 14x with OPC off on the MEIRB1, and the burn did reach 14x. Very briefly.

Sorry to hear that. This one came from Japan. We'll be getting the BDR-211U soon here in the U.S. I imagine it will be inferior to the S11 also.

It has always been so since I can remember ...
In Japan models or DVD or BluRay Axx-J \ Sxx-J always much more expensive compared to the other versions.
And if you have done in Japan in the factory Towada Japan .... that are already highly sought after and paid dearly.

Personally I prefer to pay more and to be sure device I bought isn't castrated. @czary2mary do we have, here, possibility to buy Japanese models?

After the Japan only purchase by Ebay, Amazon, and intermediaries such BayJapan.

Nice burn. :P I uderstand now more reliable is using Flash Drives/Memory Cards but this is not a reason to make poor quality burners. I'd love to have this Plextor. :D

I don't sleep very much. :) But you're right, it takes a LONG time to scan Blu-ray, especially BD-R DLs.

It seems to me that at least chipset and software had to be adapted to the technology HDCP2.2 and HDR.
As for the rest of the hardware is only our observations, assumptions and suspicions ......;)

Yes, the drive will burn DVD+R and DVD+R DL @ 2.4x. I believe the slowest burn speed for DVD-R is 4x, but I'll have to verify.

I verified that the slowest write speed for 16x DVD-R is 4x.

You're very welcome. I have been on the lookout for the BDR-211, but it does not appear to be available yet. Hopefully soon.

I still haven't found any software that will properly display a .ibg file for 100GB burns.

Note that the WH16NS58 only scans @ 6x. The WH16NS48 scan is @ 4x.

All in all, since you send it by sea mail, you will reach Poland in just 1000 years.
I checked on a few more pieces .. some detect others not
One disc detects M-Disc DVD + R systematically every second loading of the disc into the drive.
I suspect there is some bug in LiteOn iHAS 524B.
