hi, i bought an used one recently (the f1dx model with usb and firewire) but the courier treated it very badly and broke a lot of the external case (eject button inlcuded).
the burner seems to work cause it reads cd and writes cdr BUT it cannot complete AMQR burning (i used NERO portable selected AMQR and different speeds with different cdr) it always stops at something between 10%-20%
Could it be a defective drive or there's some other attempt i could try to let AMQR work?

From what I remember, all the firmwares were for all F1 models.

Does the Yamaha CRW F1 UX (Fw, 1.0c)
require different firmware to update to 1.0g than the internal IDE drive?

Hi, I think so - I haven't noticed any technical differences between these series, except for the front panel for the USB version.

There are the UX, DX and SX series.
Are the built-in CRW F1 burners compatible with each other, i.e. interchangeable?
If I have a broken UX burner, can I connect a CRW F1 from the normal IDE series to the UX controller?

Problem z USB -"gryzie" się u mnie na laptopie USB2 z obudową Yamahy z USB 1 co dobrze widać na screen przebiegu zapisu. Taki sam jest również problem z odczytem na tym komputerze -maksymalna prędkość odczytu to ~~4~~5.
Ale oczywiście na innych kompach działa poprawnie te stare USB 1.

Naprawa polegała na wymianie sterowania karetki lasera która bardzo często ulega uszkodzeniu we wszystkich Yamaha ale jedyne pocieszenie że we wszystkich mi znanych modelach tej firmy jest taka sama....Zastąpiona w tym wypadku z "trupa" używaną prowadnicą .
Ogranicznik położenia tacki został skutecznie sklejony na amen mocną żywicą epoksydową . Poskładane "graty w całość i sprzęt odpalony"
