BDR-X13U 1.03 downgrade

Hi Team,

I ordered this drive from ebay second hand, as it was an ex-display, I took a chance and was hoping it would come with the 1.02 firmware, unfortunately that is not the case. I will say the drive is very sleek and very quiet, but it does use USB-B and needs a power source, so not the most portable.

Anyway my question is if there is anyway to downgrade this drives firmware to 1.02? If not is there somehwere I can read up about what protections are in place to prevent, I did manage to find an exe of the 1.02 firmware, but of course it was not going to be that easy. Unfortunately Binwalk is not helpful, I think the actual firmware is encrypted so its not a case of just opening it up in a hex editor. Do these drives have a anything on the board that can be connected to with a programmer?

Thank You
