Thank you, I didn't know about them. They probably didn't leave much of a mark, as there is absolutely nothing about them on the web anymore. According to the website, the parent company is now doing something completely different, so I'll try writing to them.

By the way, do you know if anyone in Poland was producing DVDR media with fake MID codes? Back in 2004-2005, Polish brands offering almost exclusively fake MCC and TY MID codes were extremely widespread in our country, with a large part apparently coming from Asia. Is it possible that there was also a manufacturer in Poland producing for these brands?

I don't think anyone in Poland produces media with fakeMID, at least not that I know of.

BestMedia CD Recordable GmbH & Co. KG, which ended its media business in 2014, had a large branch in Poland. It released optical media, MD Minidiscs, cassette tapes, flash drives, etc. under the BestMedia and Platinum brands.
Some releases, especially those under the BestMedia brand, had the EAN of the Polish branch and the "Made in Poland" information, but most likely only the goods were packaged in Poland. The main suppliers for these brands were Ritek and Saehan Media/SKC/Smat.

Creating fake MIDs can only serve purpose of making money, now making making profit on fake MIDs is nearly non existent. This era is gone you still can get faked ones but it's mostly old stock form past era.

If I remember correctly, OptiDisc/Action Media, a company belonging to the large Toruń-based company TZMO SA, briefly attempted to produce CD-Rs and DVD-Rs.

Production began in the early 2000s.
CD-Rs and DVD-Rs were available in both OEM packaging (without printing) and logos. They were also manufactured for other manufacturers.

Production was quickly discontinued in the second half of the 2000s due to the decline in profitability of production in Europe.

I don't know what ATIP/MID codes or what technology was used in these media.

Thank you, I assumed they used generic codes (Plasmon and Interaxia), the licensed use of Gigastorage codes is surprising. Do you know anything else about another manufacturer of recordable media in Poland? At least one more existed, but I can't find any traces of it.

At one point, I saw DVDR lines for sale in Poland on an industrial auction portal, but they were clearly not from X-Disc, which was still producing recordable media at the time and used a completely different type.

It's been discontinued for a long time. X-Disc only presses CD-ROMs/DVD-ROMs/BD-ROMs and vinyl.

It's been practically unavailable even in Poland for a long time. The last one I saw available was a double-sided X-Disc DVD-R 9.4GB at least 2-3 years ago.

They only pressed CD-Rs and DVD-Rs themselves, using licenses and technology.

CD-R Gigastorage ATIP/ MID: 97m28s15f
DVD-R Gigastorage MID: GSC001 / GSC002

All other CD-RWs / DVD-RWs / DVD+Rs / DVD+Rs DLs released are OEMs from various manufacturers including FakeMID.

We're talking about X-Disc DVD+R

X-Disc Poland

Does anyone know anything about the history of the Polish manufacturer X-Disc? I know that they are still active in the field of pressed CDs and DVDs, and especially gramophone records, but I am interested in their recordable media.
Even though I live in a neighboring state and Polish brands (Esperanza, Fiesta, and others) were routinely available here, of course during the heyday of CD-R and DVD-R, I never had the chance to own any X-Disc media.

Does anyone know what ATIP and MID codes this manufacturer used? What was the quality of their media? Did they also use fake MID codes from TY and MCC in their production? Alternatively (and I'm not getting my hopes up here), does anyone know where I could still buy some of their media, unused of course?

Thank you.
