For comparison of Vinpower & Pioneer ratings I've compared the scan results of >130 dics (25GB: CMCMAG-BA5 &50GB: MEI-T02-001, Verbat-Imf-000).
Scanning Drives: Asus BW-16D1HT crossflashed to Vinpower WH16NS58, Pioneer BDR-PR1EPA crossflashed to Pioneer BDR-PR1ML.
Software: VPTool & Pioneer Error Rate Utility. I also took into account the jitter readings from the Plextor drive, but did not notice anything interesting in the correlation.
Recording drives Pioneer BDR-205BK/1, Pioneer BDR-S12J-X, Asus BW-16D1HT.
In this general mass, the greatest correlation was:
LDC av|RserMax & BIS av|RserMax 0,70 0,70
If I consider MID separately, then for 1 MID the correlation reached 0,99 for both LDC av|RserMax & BIS av|RserMax.
The RSER MAX indicator always had the highest correlation with LDC avg and BIS avg in any comparisons.
The BE MAX indicator did not have such a stable correlation. Overall, BE MAX had a correlation of around 0.2 with LDC avg, BIS avg, and LDC MAX. When evaluating each MID, the highest correlation of BE MAX reached 0.62 with LDC MAX and 0.46 with BIS MAX.
I also tried to evaluate the correlation between the above indicators for each recording drive and saw no connection whatsoever. I mean that when choosing a specific writing drive, there were no significant changes in the correlations.
