1.v9 is likely a firmware version with some form of protection. About a year ago, I installed them in sequence: 1.v5, 1.v7, and then 1.v9. And I mentioned a bit earlier that, so far, FreeMKV hasn't been able to create a backup from the Vinpower 1.v9 drive.

Thats a MediaTek issue vs a V9 specific. Most MediaTek dont have backup capabilities in the FW to leverage. 1.V9 doesnt look any different than other firmwares btw that I have seen.
Flash tells you when backup cant be done and allows you proceed with an OK
