With Mattjackson's help, i have now successfully crossflashed my three UD02's to become UD04's (And all 3 sets can read and rip 4K UHD's)!!
we had some problems at first, because his set was a UD02TDB Variant, and mine(All 3) were UD02FAN Variants, and his flasher couldn't flash them to be UD04's, but eventually he figured it out and now even the "FAN Variants" can be successfully crossflashed!! (Look at the 3 different serial numbers to verify!!, they match up with the first posting i did in this posting) Thanks Buddy!! Yahooooooooo!!!!! If you are running the UD02 firmware on my site, it can be flashed to UD04 1.14 - Any UD02 should work so long as it runs the firmware on my site.
Only reason it has to be the version on my site (and I mean version 1.00 not "my" specific file) is that my flasher only certifies the UD02 1.00 to UD04 1.14 - Only Do not then flash to other UD04 versions or try to cross flash to say a UD03. You own a UD02, that needs to be the base firmware always. I would suggest you always flash back to UD02 1.00 then up again if more cross flashes come in future (not sure why they will this is enough lol). My flasher has to know you were originally on a UD02 and now going to a UD04 to make the modifications to the UD04 thats needed to be flashed onto a UD02. You wont break anything you just may not get the right results if you tell my flasher the current is UD04 and you try to go to something else. As such you will notice there is no UD04 > UD02 listed on website. A UD04 can not become a UD02 (I could but why). If you want back to UD02 download 1.00 from its page. Noted with much thanks buddy.. i do have a "Problematic Really Original UD04 drive from Verbatim" i purchased 2 sets. only one set works well, the other can only read "Audio CD's" it cant read "BluRays or 4kUhd discs at all.. it spins up and gives up. wondering what would your suggestion be? crossflash to ud03, then up again? just to confuse the drive? or kick it back to life? i have cleaned the laserhead too, but to no avail.
oh yes, i have posted the successful crossflash on makemkv's website too!! https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/view...207845#p207845 ok buddy, will download "Discord" and follow up with you there. at the moment i need to go out from home for some errands.. catch up later, and thanks once again buddy. Yea id try UD03 firmware and see if that works. If so then up to UD04 and see if that works. Dump the firmware first too and send it my way. Hit me up on discord for 1 on 1 stuff. See website for link

Cytat:
I recall that the BDX-PR1ML is read-only a, drive offered by Pioneer specifically for testing media.

Yes, thatâs exactly what I meant; the BDX-PR1ML supports 128GB BD-R QL XL media. |

Generally i suggest you do not use bypass unless you understand what its bypassing and why. Its not a normal "feature" to just check. I know czary2mary understands this and thanks for working with me on testing this stuff czary2mary.
0.17.0 is on its way with the above capability. No need to use bypass. It will just advertise as an authorized cross flash on website. As for UD02: It only works UD02 1.00 > UD04 1.14. Any crossflashes out side of that will not work and you need to reset to UD02 1.00 and redo the UD02 > UD04 flash. Ill try to harden this but I didn't expect most to do other flashes on top of UD04

Wait, what!? Pioneer turned drives with write capabilities into BD-ROMs with media test capabilities? Did I get that right regarding BDX-PR1ML?
Could be interesting to flash my 211U/M to BDX-PR1ML then, their write quality is equally bad, the worst Pioneer writers I own. LOL Btw is there anything interesting 206Ds could be flashed to? Asking for a friend...
