Verbatim BD-R MDISC 4x box
VERBATIMe (000) Pioneer BDR-XD08 1.04 ImgBurn 2.5.8.0 @4x ![]() For comparsion: VERBATIMe(000) LG-BH16NS55 1.05 ImgBurn 2.5.8.0 @4x ![]() The result with ImgBurn is no better than with Power2Go 11 (compare here "forum.cdrinfo.pl/showpost.php?p=1473760&postcount=105") and I didn't expect it either. Maybe there are some worse batches of these media in circulation, I don't know. Ostatnio zmieniany przez huh22 : 19.07.2025 o godz. 20:47 |

Cytat:
Verbatim 6x Pioneer BDR-205 Imgburn 6x OPC off but I had a possibility to select several good batches from a couple thousands discs, and I remember that quality was very different for this MID code

I know. Paradoxically, I got 3x worse results with Spare Area than without it (when burning 4x). It seems that these media also have mixed quality on one spindle. But it was cheap, less than 1 EUR per piece, so I didn't lose that much.

Verbatim BD-R MDISC Pritntable BOX 4x
VERBATIMe (000) Pioneer BDR-XD08 1.04 Power2Go 11 @2x ![]() The burning quality has deteriorated compared to 4x, you can compare here https://forum.cdrinfo.pl/attachments...atime-000-.jpg Verbatim BD-R MDISC Pritntable BOX 4x VERBATIMe (000) Pioneer BDR-XD08 1.04 With spare area Power2Go 11 @4 ![]() Last attempt with spare area. Comparing these (3 in total) images suggests that these media are of very variable quality. |

Asking in this thread because I have a BDR-XD08 drive. It was on firmware 1.02 and I did burn discs to test it out. The quality tests in this thread seems nice if you have the right media.
I had to use a old computer to run Opti Drive Control in order to check my CDs and DVDs. It has a Pioneer DVR-117L IDE drive and the disc scan did not indicate that the quality was good. I wanted better quality burns. I am wondering if that old hardware could have an impact on reading the media, I also found information in this forum that you should test reading it back at 2x when checking disc quality. Something I did not do so I am going to redo the scans. It did surprise me that the Verbatim DVD-R discs did not indicate higher quality. The disc I burned at 2x was much better compared to the burn at 6x. For best quality with a slim drive like XD08 should you always burn as slow as possible ? Will an AC adapter have any impact on the results when burning a disc ? I have also tested older Verbatim DVD-R discs that I know are like 15 years old by now and they read good and is of great quality. But they where all burned on Pioneer DVR-106 up to DVR-117 devices, 5.25 units in computers with IDE or SATA connection. At the moment I can not test BD-R but I did burn a old Traxdata BD-RW at 2x and did copy it back in a old BDR-206 drive. No problems but this is a RW disc. Verbatim DVD-R 16x AZO 50pcs Spindle
MCC 03RG20 Pioneer BDR-XD08 1.02 Nero Burning Rom v27.0.14 @2x I don't know how old the DVDs are but it says, DVD-R v2.1 / 1x-16x (Rev 6.0) I have now upgraded firmware but not burned any more discs, and for some reason I could not limit the read speed of Opti Drive Control. |
