If you would ask Vinpower Digital directly via Amazon.com about this function with a link on this forum and this problem, maybe you will be succeed. Then I would definitely buy this drive from Amazon.com as well.

Maybe your computer's SATA controller is interfering? Just a guess.


By the way, where did you get the 1.v9 FW?

Maybe you came across a description of what they changed in their firmware after 1.v5?

I have solved this problem for a long time with the technical support of Vinpowerdigital.com, where I was told that the "58D and version robot" models can measure the quality (disc quality check), so I ordered the model: "robot" for more money and I received an identical model from: "labelprinter.pl", which also cannot measure the quality of burned media.

I returned both models back to: "Labelprinter.pl" and I am currently waiting for a refund.

I do not know if it was a mistake on the side of the labelprinter.pl or directly to the vigpowerdigital.com, but on the following models:
"DUP versions" cannot measure the quality of burned media in any programs.

I tested the firmware upgrade to version 1. V9 and downgrade on version 1. V5.

Interestingly, the second unit purchased had the same identification labels, but different firmware:
Drive no.1: "WH16NS58 1V8" Firmware.
Drive no. 2: (Reportedly Robot version): "WH16NS58 TSTK Firmware.

Contact your dealer or Vinpower support. They have already had mistakes with the uploaded firmware.
Also ask about PlexTools - they send it to your e-mail address for those who bought it and did not receive it on a CD.
The series with firmware 1.V5 tests discquality.

Vinpower WH16NS58 1.V8 does not support disc quality check??!!!! Please help!

I bought a new burning drive: "Vinpower WH16NS58" and found i fout that it does not support measuring the quality of BD-R, DVD amd CD media!

According to the reviews on this forum, it was said that this drive has modified firmware from the company: "Vinpower Digital", which can measure the quality of burned BD-R media (LDC/BIS).

The burn drive was purchased at: "https://labelprinter.pl/".

The drive came in a "bulk" version without the Plextools software, so I can't measure media quality in any software.

Where can the problem be? Thank you...
