The Japanese version has slightly different graphics, with the logo.

The disc is manufactured using Panasonic MEIT02 BD-R 25GB technology, using Panasonic machines and materials purchased by RItek Conexx when MEI discontinued Blu-ray disc production. MID codes were not purchased because they have their own registered RITEKBR/DR/TL.

The disc has also passed certification by the Japanese Archive Center Test Center association.

Yes, the first photo you included is what mine look like. If they're made using Panasonic's process and materials, I would have hoped for better results.

Greetings, pepst. I bought mine from eBay. They now also have Ritek archival DVD-R and BD-R DL. I will be testing them soon.

Any chance for a disc quality scan with OptiDriveControl as well ?
For quick and easy comparison.
(I am struggling to interpret that PioneerErrorRateUtility data)

Those are RITEK-TL2 BDXL discs. You can find several scans of them in the forums. They burn reasonably well, but not great.

Ah, so not really 'Archival grade' then I take it.

Really annoying that all the sellers (incl Amazon themselves) then misinform about this so badly, even if the label on the spindle clearly does not back this up. (compared to the 25GB archival ones, I mean)

I recently found this media and I am wondering if this would be better than Verbatim M-Disc media. I am talking about the "Ritek Archival Grade 4x BD-R" media and not DL discs.

It seems that some hardware like Lite-On have problems reading back M-Disc media.
