The screenshot shows that the drive's OPC is unable to set the laser power for a 6x write ratio. The drive won't even start recording or pass the OPC test for this write strategy.

As I mentioned, these drives are not designed to work with computers or PC programs outside of the VinPower platform and drivers.

Same thing using Imgburn when I tried at 8x. Might work without OPC but not recommended.

That's news to me. I always assumed that the drive just uses the write strategy and the laser power that's stored in the firmware. And with OPC enabled it uses a small section on the disc to test this and finetunes the strategy stored in firmware and then continues with that modified startegy/ laser power.

I just googled that there is also Running OPC while writing to optimize laser power. However, in this case the burn fails right after doing the OPC in the test area. So ROPC doesn't even come into play if the drive is doing / can do that.

So far, I've done three successful cross-flashes. But my goal was Q scanning BD-R|RE, I also checked recording, but reading UHD isn't important to me.
In all three cases, after the first installation of firmware 1.v5, the drive had problems with BD-R/RE. I simply did another reflash of 1.v5 Mk - no MK, 1.v5 no MK - 1.v5 MK or 1.v5 ->1.v7. After that, there were no problems with MID that you mentioned. But remember, ASUS 3.11fw has more options for writing at high speeds for your MID code than Vinpower fw.
a screen below -I performed multisession recording and you can see all available speed options for MID: CMCMAG-BA5. This MID code varies greatly in quality.

It's very possible there's a problem with the 1.V5 firmware, but at what stage and who did something wrong is hard to say. This isn't our firmware. I don't know how it was copied from the Vinpower drive, or how it was prepared/edited.

Our 1.V.1 firmware supports 6/8x writes for CMCMAGBA5 media.




Regarding OPC:
If the external calculator in Imgburn is enabled or disabled, it has no effect on the drive. Disabling OPC for the drive would require extensive modifications to the drive's firmware. The LG NVC:50/51/55/58 models, like all LG models, have zoned OPC, which is always active, as seen on every write run. OPC checks the error rate multiple times every few zones via the ERC block and corrects the laser power and beam. VinPower models definitely have different OPC settings than factory LG models, and the same applies to the VinPower Pioneer BDR-209DBK Plus / BDR-212V.



Disc quality tests work on any 1.Vx firmware because they are developed by VinPower. Firmware versions 1.V1~1.V5 are also unlocked and read UHD files from the factory. Version 1.V5MK most likely allows you to flash unlocked firmware over the locked 1.V6 / 1.V7 / 1.V8 / 1.V9 firmwares in these models.

My non-MK were extracted with firmwareextractor2 from 4MB .exe files and can be flashed with SDFTool or the modified ASUS flasher. And of course Mike has made modifications in the MK version. Impossible to compare.

Na rynku pokazały się nowsze wersje napędu LG BH14NS40 z datą produkcji 2015 wyposażone w inny chipset - Mediatek MT1959 HWDN niż modele wcześniej wyprodukowane (MT1959UWDN )
Zmiana ta uniemożliwia jaki kolwiek crossflash najnowszych wersji LG BH14NS40 do innych modeli . Na razie brak dokładnego info od kiedy i z jaką dokładną datą produkcji i zmianą numeracji \typu napędu zrobił producent wprowadził na rynek te zmiany ..Nie ma również możliwości programowego sprawdzenia tego na dziś jaka wersja chipsetu jest w napędzie....Więc przed jakim-kolwiek crossflash takiej wersji napędu wymagane jest rozebranie napędu i dokładne sprawdzenie hardware LG BH14NS40

WSZYSTKIE OPERACJE I CZYNNOŚCI WYKONUJEMY NA WŁASNE RYZYKO.

Napęd w czasie crossflash powinien być podłączony do kontrolera SATA do komputera bez problemów sprzętowo-programowych

2. Otwieramy program ShowHideControls- zaznaczamy tak jak na screen "FlashIt" oraz w oknie programu poniżej pierwszy element jak ja screen-
---po tych operacjach powinnyśmy mieć aktywne przyciski na dole "Show Elements , Activate, Click" które po kolei klikamy i aktywujemy .

3. W tym momencie powinno otworzyć się na okno wyboru plików -gdzie wybieramy firmware bin. dla napędu do którego chcemy zrobić crossflash i
akceptujemy.

4 . W instalatorze musi się zmienić wersja firmware- na symbol jego na taki jaki wybraliśmy model do crossflash - w przykładzie najpierw 1.01 dla Asus BW16D1HT
a w drodze powrotnej 1.03 dla LG BH16NS40 jeżeli jest inaczej przerywamy operację i sprawdzamy czy firmware do crossflash
na 100% jest prawidłowo zrobiony lub robimy kopię jeszcze raz lub prosimy \szukamy prawidłowego firmware.
-Jeżeli tak jest i nastąpiła zmiana wersji firmware w oknie instalatora klikamy przycisk flash\start \po wgraniu nowego firmware dostajemy komunikat o
restarcie który wykonujemy- po nim jeżeli wszystko poszło OK otrzymujemy nowy napęd.
