jadburner, thank you very much for the data dumps! Helped me a lot to figure out some drive settings.

A question: have you got any slim TEAC drive from DV-W28xxxx series? There is a rumor that some of these drives are rebadged Pioneer drives, but I don't have access to any of them to check it out.

blackened2687 - Just saw this. You're welcome for the data dumps. I still need to get you the dumps from my BDR-XS05T. Soon. :)

I'm pretty sure I have a couple hiding around here somewhere. I'll try to find them for you.

Good to hear from you.

jadburner, thank you!

To gather the necessary drive information more easily, I've made a small one-button program (called it Pioneer Data Dumper):

http://www60.zippyshare.com/v/Tt8wTvdO/file.html

The usage is simple as possible: enter the drive letter followed with a colon and click [Dump Data]. Resulting file is something that I need to properly add the drive support. :piwo:

To everybody: If you will find some slim Pioneer BD drive from the list below, please dump its data using the Pioneer Data Dumper and send the file to czary2mary or to me. It will greatly help to add the most of existing Pioneer drives to the program. :piwo:

Wow!!! And even the LightScribe version! :O

So, it's true: DV-W28S-Vxx series drives does appear to be rebadged DVR-TD09 drives, and that is very good!

Thank you very much! Would be great to find more drives from these series!

Here you go: DV-W28SLC

Załącznik 95346

blackened2687 04.06.2017 06:17

jadburner, thank you very much for more dumps! Could you please also dump additional data with Pioneer Data Dumper from DV-W28SLC?

And is it possible to look at the full name of the drive on the label? With all the hyphens and additional numbers outside the square frame. Of course, if the drive is not installed in the laptop or if it's not too difficult to remove. If it's installed in the laptop, then i need the full laptop model code.

Drive full model code should be like DV-W28SL-C-1D2. DV-W28SL is in the square, and C-1D2 is outside on one line with main model name.

Thanks in advance!

I'm amazed to find that DV-W28SLC is also a Pioneer drive - 0072 is the hardware code of DVR-K17 drives - but DVR-K17 is a tray loading drive! I assume, that the slot loader itself is made by different manufacturer - Pioneer made only the board, firmware and optical pickup. Interesting drive - definitely worth to have!

Wow! Thank you very much for the photos and the dump!

More info: I've researched a bit about slim TEAC drives and can now suggest which series used the Pioneer hardware:

DV-W28ECxx - DVR-K17
DV-W28SLCxx - DVR-K17 (with slot loader not made by Pioneer)
DV-W28E-Rxx - DVR-KD08
DV-W28S-Rxx - DVR-TD08
DV-W28S-Vxx - DVR-TD09
DV-W28U-Vxx - DVR-TD09 (external drive)

Maybe there are more rebadged Pioneer drives, we have yet to figure it out. :)

jadburner, have you ever heard of Toshiba Portable SuperMulti Drive PA3834U? It seems that this drive is also a rebadged Pioneer, but I've failed to find any firmware for it to check out.

Apparently the DV-W28S-WTN is NOT a Pioneer drive:

Yes, I **think** I have one hiding here somewhere. I'll add it to my list of drives to look for. :)
