i found a PLDS DH-16A6S in the closet that seems to work. it should be some kind of LiteOn, so is there anything interesting in which i could crossflash it into?

LiteOn iHAS 320 6 is the only one with Smart Erase.
Plextor/Teac - known for the best-developed software and writing strategies.

thanks for your replies, i finally crossflashed it to plextor px-806sa and it seems to work (plexutils recognize it, cdspeed and optidrive scans work)
