I would also be interested. Plextor (for example) provided this information for all of their burners directly on their website.

I also bought Vinpower WH16NS58 DUP 1.v9 made 08.2022 it's a bit used from Japan. I already have crossflashed ASUS drives with FW 1.v5, 1.v7 and now I bought a factory version 1.v9 version.
Strange but original 1.v9 it seems is not working with VPtools, but does quality scan in Opti Drive Control

I ordered before Christmas the drive on Amazon.com and that can measure the quality of burned media. !!! toast2

I asked the seller on Amazon.com several times and was told that the drive has this feature.

Note: Otherwise, as far as the label and inscription: "Support Quality Scan" are concerned, this is a designation only for the European market. The American label on the drive does not have this marking, but the drive have this function (quality measurement).

You will get 5x BD-R disc (Plexdisc 25 GB) and 1x CD-R with PlexTools software with the drive.

Note: BD-R and CD-R (without plastic cover see, photos below), the covers is mine. :)

no read but write?
I had similar issue with 1.v5, but flashed another 1.v5 (MK) and drive became read, write and scan

ive crosflased my drive with wh16ns60 firmware to makemkv 1.v5 via SDFtool Flasher then using the 1.v9 updater.exe and upgrade my drive. but now it doesnt read any media. reflashing back to wh16ns60 didnt help. any ideas??

it seems strange official Vinpower device does not support quality scan , but crossflashed LG/ASUS -> vinpower v1.v5 support

This is the official EXE update firmware (download link see. below). It is designed for the version: "WH16NS58 DUP" I do not guarantee that "Disc Quality SCAN" will work with this firmware. Updating this firmware is at your own risk. When downgrading to firmware v.1.5 (using the program: "SDFtool Flasher"), I found that the firmware v. 1.9 is encrypted.

I have solved this problem for a long time with the technical support of Vinpowerdigital.com, where I was told that the "58D and version robot" models can measure the quality (disc quality check), so I ordered the model: "robot" for more money and I received an identical model from: "labelprinter.pl", which also cannot measure the quality of burned media.

I returned both models back to: "Labelprinter.pl" and I am currently waiting for a refund.

I do not know if it was a mistake on the side of the labelprinter.pl or directly to the vigpowerdigital.com, but on the following models:
"DUP versions" cannot measure the quality of burned media in any programs.

I tested the firmware upgrade to version 1. V9 and downgrade on version 1. V5.

Interestingly, the second unit purchased had the same identification labels, but different firmware:
Drive no.1: "WH16NS58 1V8" Firmware.
Drive no. 2: (Reportedly Robot version): "WH16NS58 TSTK Firmware.

Contact your dealer or Vinpower support. They have already had mistakes with the uploaded firmware.
Also ask about PlexTools - they send it to your e-mail address for those who bought it and did not receive it on a CD.
The series with firmware 1.V5 tests discquality.

Vinpower WH16NS58 1.V8 does not support disc quality check??!!!! Please help!

I bought a new burning drive: "Vinpower WH16NS58" and found i fout that it does not support measuring the quality of BD-R, DVD amd CD media!

According to the reviews on this forum, it was said that this drive has modified firmware from the company: "Vinpower Digital", which can measure the quality of burned BD-R media (LDC/BIS).

The burn drive was purchased at: "https://labelprinter.pl/".

The drive came in a "bulk" version without the Plextools software, so I can't measure media quality in any software.

Where can the problem be? Thank you...
