When the Select Drive command is used WinHIIP automatically attempts to auto detect which software has been using the hard drive.
If the drive is being used with any version of HDLoader and the last sector used is less than the 28bit lba limit, the mode will be set to 28bit lba. So In this instance, if you are using a 48bit patched HDLoader, you would change the option here after selecting the drive but before adding more images.
For Toxic OS the detection of Standard or Extended partition mode is automatic. At the moment there is no way to add the Extended mode to a drive that has been formatted as Standard.

W praktyce nigdy tej opcji nie ruszałem i nawet jak była ustawiona na 24bit to WinHIIP bez problemu formatował mi HDD i dodawał/usuwał gry (dysk mam 400GB). Po wykryciu rozmiaru dysku WinHIIP "sam się ustawia" czy używać 24bit czy 48bit
