basic drive info updates seen above will be out soon, ill then work on editing the data we can. But it seems the fury of flashing issues has been resolved which is great so we have a tool now that seems stable, everything else is icing on top.
Also I got unlocking of Pioneer drives done and built into FreeMKV so its been a successful Pioneer week! I bricked my BU40N but thats for another day. |

It even shows the exact day, the drive was built on!
How did you manage to brick it? |

I either bricked it or just fried it. Either way its DEAD. not responding or even showing up period.
Was doing more Mediatech firmware stuff. Hitting it hard in places it didnt want to go. Its been my work horse for the last 12 months so its served its purpose. Good job I just got Pioneer working so I can continue backing up |

i still have no luck even with the "Recovery Option" to bring my UD02 back to life..
i tried all and every option from UD03 and UD04 and HLE firmwares.. really hoping someone has that original and elusive UD02 firmware to share.. |

Wish more of them would try it. Honestly I read posts over there about things they say that are impossible and Id love them to try my software. Older Mediatek drives they swear cant do UHD, but my custom firmware should enable. Needs testers but the code is sound. Most of those guys just swear by MakeMKV and dont believe its reproducible let alone potentially better. Many more people could be ripping more successful imo.

i had a old LG based on the 1939 platform.. but i already sold that years ago.. if only i still had it, i would gladly try your flasher for LG too..
they keep saying its only if the platform is 1959 then it can be done. but somehow, i know you have managed to overcome that hurdle too. Cheers!!! |

Ive definitely gotten 1939 drives to accept UHD discs but what happens next is the unknown. Search for a 1939 drive in my firmware list and itll show what can be modified to support. 100+ supported with various features.
I was working on trying to get it working on OEM firmware not having to use my modified firmware, but you know, dead bu40n and all

I got an LG BE14NU40 (basically just an external BH14NS40) which is MT1939. I got this error, when trying to flash the edited firmware. I'll PM you the full log Matt.
pre-flash backup failed; aborting flash: unrecognized boot page (sha256 c80a89acd715cadc50e7c2d392a88abcacc268470659355203 ef444add3cb39e); no restorable backup can be built for this firmware |
