Edit 1.10: this turned into a proper Windows app since, trev.bot flash
(). The check is free and tells you if your exact
model/firmware is covered before anything gets written.

Confirmed on real drives so far: X13, XD05, XD07, XD08/XD08LE, 209M,
211M, 212BK, 213M, S12U, S13U (1.05 to 1.02), UD03, and the ASUS
SBW-06D2X-U / 06D5H-U (to UD04).
In the app but nobody has done one yet: S12, S13JX, 212M, XD08U, some
other firmware versions of the above, and a few rebadged ones (Epson
BDE-PR1EP, BDR-WX1DM, BDX-PR1ML, BDR-PR1AME).
Exact firmware versions:

Flashing is a lot quicker now too, 32 KB transfers like Pioneer's own
updater, so a few minutes instead of 20+.

Still collecting kernels/firmware for drives that aren't on the list. If
you have one, the survey mode in the app reads it and sends it to me, it
doesn't flash anything. if you get stuck.

Flashowanie jest też dużo szybsze, paczki po 32 KB jak w oficjalnym
updaterze Pioneera, więc kilka minut zamiast 20+.

Dalej zbieram kernele/firmware z napędów spoza listy. Jeśli masz taki,
tryb ankiety (survey) w aplikacji go odczyta i wyśle do mnie, niczego

Kilka słów ode mnie...

Ponieważ mam kilka napędów Pioneer z firmware wydanym po grudniu 2022, od dłuższego czasu szukałem skutecznej metody na downgrade oraz crossflash do wersji UHD. Do niedawna jedyną osobą, która potrafiła wykonać downgrade takich napędów, był Billycar11 i miał na to pełny monopol. Na szczęście sytuacja właśnie się zmieniła.

Nie trzeba już płacić Billy'emu $200 za downgrade, bo pojawił się Trevor, który realnie odmienił temat.

Gdy tylko zobaczyłem jego post na naszym forum, od razu skontaktowałem się z nim bezpośrednio. Przesłałem mu zrzuty ekranu z MakeMKV wszystkich moich napędów z firmware po 12/2022, aby mógł je przeanalizować. W odpowiedzi Trevor przygotował dla mnie testową wersję swojego flashera, dzięki której w prosty sposób mogłem przejść z BDR-XD05T 1.22 prosto na BDR-XD06U 1.11 za jednym podejściem.

Program jest bardzo intuicyjny, posiada graficzne GUI, a Trevor dodatkowo przygotował instrukcję również w języku polskim. Cały czas rozbudowuje swoją bazę kerneli i firmware dla napędów Pioneer, dlatego uważam, że warto go w tym wspierać.

Udostępnił środowisko na stronie , gdzie znajduje się wersja beta aplikacji dla Windows. Jej zadaniem jest zebranie informacji o podłączonym napędzie (model, kernel, firmware, dane z MakeMKV itd.) i wysłanie ich na serwer developerski Trevora.

Skontaktowałem się z nim przez email: Otrzymałem flashera oraz pomoc. Program jest we wczesnej fazie testowej, więc w przypadku jakichkolwiek problemów wysyłamy Trevorowi pliki JSON do analizy.

Poniżej znajduje się screenshot z informacjami dotyczącymi mojego napędu, który kupiłem jakiś czas temu z zablokowanym firmware (poprzedni właściciel wykonał aktualizację).

A few words from me...

Since I own several Pioneer drives with firmware released after December 2022, I've been looking for an effective method to downgrade and crossflash them to UHD versions. Until recently, the only person capable of downgrading these drives was Billycar11, who essentially had a full monopoly on the process. Fortunately, this has just changed.

You no longer need to pay Billy $200 for a downgrade, because Trevor has stepped in and completely changed the situation.

As soon as I saw his post on our forum, I contacted him directly. I sent him MakeMKV screenshots of all my drives with firmware released after 12/2022 so he could analyze them. In response, Trevor prepared a test version of his flasher for me, which allowed me to easily downgrade from BDR-XD05T 1.22 straight to BDR-XD06U 1.11 in a single step.

The program is very intuitive, comes with a graphical GUI, and Trevor was kind enough to prepare a Polish language manual as well. He is continuously expanding his database of kernels and firmware for Pioneer drives, so I believe it's worth supporting his work.

He has made his environment available at , where you can find the beta version of his Windows application. Its purpose is to collect information about the connected drive (model, kernel, firmware, MakeMKV data, etc.) and send it to Trevor's development server.

I contacted him via email at . I received the flasher and assistance. The program is still in an early testing phase, so if any issues arise, we simply send Trevor the JSON files for analysis.

Tym razem jest to BDR-XD07TB, który wpadł kiedyś w moje ręce już z wgranym najnowszym firmware.
Teraz już w pełni obsługuje płyty 4K UHD.

This time it's the BDR-XD07TB, which landed in my hands with the latest firmware already installed.
It is now fully ready to read 4K UHD discs.

This release focuses on expanding data collection with full firmware captures, not just basic identification.
After running "Identify", please proceed with "Capture and send firmware" including main firmware when the tool offers it.

Uploads are handled automatically. Once the server confirms receipt, the local capture is removed.
Any failed uploads remain encrypted and will be retried until successful.

Version 0.1.8 introduces six new exact read profiles for the BDR-211M, 212BK, and 213M series.
These profiles still require physical validation, so every test run is highly appreciated.

The tool functions strictly as a research collector, it does not flash drives, so don't worry.
Even refused read diagnostics are valuable and help us improve support for additional models.

Po standardowym "Identify", prosimy o uruchamianie "Capture and send firmware" i przesyłanie wszystkich dostępnych segmentów firmare'u, w tym main firmware, jeśli narzędzie na to pozwoli.

Upload odbywa się automatycznie. Po potwierdzeniu odbioru danych przez serwer lokalna kopia jest kasowana.
Niewysłane pliki pozostają zaszyfrowane i będą użyte przy kolejnych próbach wysyłki.

Wersja 0.1.8 wprowadza 6 nowych profili odczytu firmware dla serii BDR-211M / 212BK / 213M.
Profile wymagają sprawdzenia działania na fizycznym sprzęcie, dlatego każdy test jest mile widziany.

Narzędzie pełni wyłącznie funkcję zbierania danych o oprogramowaniu wewnętrznym napędów - nie wykonuje flashowania, więc nie ma się czego bać.
Nawet przypadki podczas których program nie będzie mógł odczytać firmware z napędu są dla nas diagnostycznie użyteczne.

i have a pioneer BDR-UD02 which i flashed a long time ago to UD03 then UD04, but unfortunately the flashing it bricked it. i still have the drive with me. how do i upload using the trevor tool?

this was the makemkv readout months ago, when it was on the stock ud-02 firmware.. but now its been upgraded to ud-04 firmware and it totally cannot read or write anything anymore. just a dead drive.

Hope I did it somewhat right, I updated a couple of times and did the reports again. Funnily enough it was pretty blank on my old BDR-206D@S06, that I still use in an external USB enclosure.

Pioneer flashes come in 2 files: Kernels & Normals. I have around 200+ Kernels, 900+ normals and 100+ different models. These will be landing on the website soon for FREE download.


My flasher is fully working on MediaTek and being tested now on Pioneer. Again, free and open source. So please contribute to the code

Im trying to do both at the same time. Get them friendly and then learn how they become rip able. Pioneer is the final piece in a complete Open Source UHD Ripping system for me

i downloaded your freemkv software. thanks.
but i noticed that to rip a uhd disc, the program doesnt have the keydb incorporated within your program. any chance you could include the keydb keys into your program to work straight out of the box?

something like what makemkv has done? it has automatic keydb's incorporated in it.
