Could you tell me why many people choose the Pioneer BDR-212U firmware (or similar) instead of the S12JX? Personally, I install the MAX S11/S12 firmware versions to use the Pioneer utility for enabling Silent Mode foremost. To be honest, I almost never need UHD, since I mostly burn discs

We should be trying to backup oem drives before we crossflash imo. Otherwise we lose the original firmware that may not exist in the public domain. Is anybody saving their original firmware or just flashing?

I downgraded my S13U with firmware 1.05 to 1.02 using beta 62, then I crossflashed it to S13J-X 1.02 with BDRFlash 1.00 and updated to 1.03 using the official Pioneer updater:

Now I hope I could do the same with my 212M @ S12 1.04.
