Flashing Pioneer drives with firmware 12/2022+

i am choosing to not distribute keys. they are easily obtained anyways, keydbs website literally had a download zip button. that said there is an online key server you can register for and use, then no keydb needed. Info on discord. But no I wont be putting keys in the app itself.

also for reference makemkv doesnt use keydb it has its own key sources it bundles. not the public keys from keydb. The online key server freemkv works with is also not keydb but a larger collection.

We should be trying to backup oem drives before we crossflash imo. Otherwise we lose the original firmware that may not exist in the public domain. Is anybody saving their original firmware or just flashing?

Pioneer BDR-212BK do Pioneer BDR-212U UHD 1.05

Could you tell me why many people choose the Pioneer BDR-212U firmware (or similar) instead of the S12JX? Personally, I install the MAX S11/S12 firmware versions to use the Pioneer utility for enabling Silent Mode foremost. To be honest, I almost never need UHD, since I mostly burn discs

I downgraded my S13U with firmware 1.05 to 1.02 using beta 62, then I crossflashed it to S13J-X 1.02 with BDRFlash 1.00 and updated to 1.03 using the official Pioneer updater:

Now I hope I could do the same with my 212M @ S12 1.04.

hi mattjackson, do you happen to have the pioneer BDR-UD02 stock firmware by chance?

Not yet, i think im about 200 short from "everything" and I am definitely down to the hard to get ones. I just got a UD03 1.03.

All will be up on the website soon including a new search which should show you what cross flashes are compatible. So if your on X it will say you can got to Y or Z and you just download what you want to be on and flash it. No multistep games of downgrade > cross flash > upgrade....in theory

Cool!!! but sad that its very hard to get that elusive BDR-UD02 firmware...i bricked it when i flashed it first to ud03, then eventually to ud04. and i didnt know how to back up the original ud02 firmware first.

My flasher can backup to an OEM style format (kernel + normal), meaning if you backed up I can upload it for others to download and flash as is.

Give me a few days and the updated flasher with the backup working will be up there.
