Logs tell me that the corrected 2.02 file is blocked for a different reason: it requires an ID72 Kernel, while this drive has GENERAL
1.01 is also a corrupted file. Doing a full sweep for this extraction bug (from updater exe > normal+kernel) and pushing any new/fixed ones. EDIT: so 2.02 is just a normal so we cant go from GENERAL to ID72 as both kernel and normal need to match. Thats you issue there. Ill keep working on more detailed errors so its easier to self diagnose BDR-TD05 1.01 and 2.02 BDR-TD04 1.01 BDC-TD04 1.01 BDC-TD05 1.01 Looks like all from same model and has similar extraction issues. All will be updated on website in 30. New 0.15.1 with new errors trying to aide self diagnosis also up soon. Wish UD02 were cheaper and more abundant considering what I am working on

just upgraded to version 0.15.1 of your flasher. yes, now it shows the reason of why it cant be flashed. Superb and fast work buddy!!
ill keep my TD-05 at v1.02.. i pressed the "Verified" button too as it works well for my drive. Now i really am wondering what you have instore for the UD02!! More goodies to come! Yippee!! UD02 mostly can be found in "Toshiba Laptops" i guess my 3 sets were pulled out from Toshiba's. i bought them from a "Used Computer Parts Shop in Amazon Japan" i think i paid $35 Singapore Dollars for each. i did a search for that same shop in Amazon Japan, but it seems they no longer exist...Sad... Hi Matt, if u do happen to make the UD02 "UHD Capable" do let me know, i can do the testing out for you too. since i have 3 sets of the UD02 to play around with. After the Friendly Reminder to keep this discussion board with relevant details, i must respect that decision. This is a very informative forum which i would not want to be kicked out off. too much to lose if i get kicked out. Cheers to one and all.

All somebody sent me some logs:
The drive initially identified as BDR-S11JX 1.54. User selected a BDR-209M 1.54 package with a different hardware family ID. Flash and Recovery both blocked it without writing anything. This is correct. Wrong family, wont flash. No bug. User then enabled Bypass compatibility checks and forced that package onto the drive. The write completed, and Kernel and Normal contents verified successfully. Just because and it flashed doesn't mean it works. If you are using Bypass it indicates a problem and all safety is off the table people!!! Now identifying as 209M, the drive accepted S12JX 1.03 because that package matched the hardware family of the firmware user had forced onto it. That check could no longer establish compatibility with the original physical hardware. User subsequently reported that the tray would not open. Not a surprise, this hardware and this firmware should not be together. User selected the previous S11JX firmware to return. The family check blocked that transition too, so user used bypass again. Restoration completed, with Kernel and Normal verified. The reports do not confirm whether tray operation returned. This time bypass was "correct" to use as it was forced into the wrong family and you had to force it back. My summary here: Glad you didn't brick it, but I can not help you if you use bypass. You are acknowledging you are forcing a firmware onto a drive it shouldn't run on. If you did it and knew what you were doing, great. If you were unclear and think my app needs to be made clearer please let me know. UD02 has been confirmed to read UHD. 1959 drives are capable of firmware modification to enable UHD 1939 drives are being looked into, 50/50 right now Ostatnio zmieniany przez mattjackson : 26.10.2026 o godz. 19:55 |

it was me, the one that did the "Bypass" it is now safely back to being a S11JX, but the laser head reading discs, Skips while playing. i opened the drive up to clean the laserheads, but it still "Skips"
Its ok, just wanted to try the Changing of Sat 8800 to Sat8801. gonna try cleaning the laserheads tomorrow, and leave it exposed in the sunlight for awhile then report back. love experimenting on these drives. anyway buddy, which firmware should i be choosing for the UD02 to be able to read UHD's? Thanks buddy. its good that i can test out whatever drives i have in possession for all to learn that it is Very Risky if you only have 1 drive and you will be risking a "Bricked drive" if you do so.. its totally fine for me as i do have quite a few in hand. as for the UD02, i will keep a daily lookout for the "Crossflash Option" to appear on your page. thanks once again buddy. I still got the BE14NU40 (external variant of BH14NS40) which is MT1939. I crossflashed it to a BH14NS40 on 1.02. On the FW archive it showed up as being BD/UHD, but the drive only tries to read a UHD disc a few times, but then stops.
