Did some research into the UD02 drives... it was mostly sold bundled with "Toshiba Laptops"
i bought these 3 sets from amazon japan.. it cant be found for sale anymore in amazon japan already

I got an LG BE14NU40 (basically just an external BH14NS40) which is MT1939. I got this error, when trying to flash the edited firmware. I'll PM you the full log Matt.

Matt, you are a space cowboy. Why should anybody risk a drive that is now in a couple of $100 region to make these experiments? A flash to UHD makes sense. Anything else is just mad and is following the stupid marketing yada yada Pioneer has put out to increase their sales for their drives. Are you thinking this is a real benefit? It is not. Flash a drive to a safe UHD version. Stop there. My 2 cents.

A flash to UHD makes sense.

Not everyone is a movie buff; there is little interest in UHD ripping in our area. However, interest has grown in high-quality recording;and, importantly, scanning;using the PR1 model, especially now that drive production has ceased and HDD prices have risen significantly. There is a difference between Pioneer and Vinpower scans; effectively, the two Vinpower metrics correlate with each other, whereas with Pioneer, the two metrics differ, with only one of them correlating with the Vinpower results.

As I expected, it is impossible to reflash the S05XLB to the 206/S06 firmware. Not that it is necessary, though; I compared the media lists and found that the list for the S05 (firmware 1.12) is more extensive than the one for the 206 (firmware 1.06).

Oof you buried the lead at the bottom of the post. any more flash failures please say it has a happy ending earlier on lol




Ill analyze this scenario and see how to improve the matching logic further.
