Thanks the screenshots help. I bet Iâm being too restrictive in what drives I show and what I hide, I must have a filter wrong especially with Windows and usbs. Iâll sort it!

Hehehehe!! thanks buddy.. i purposely bought a USED ancient desktop pc tower casing that can hold 4 sets of 5.25 drives, and loaded them into the desktop pc..all 4 are the BDR-S12U (flashed to become S12U in actual fact) Hehehehe! thats why i cant tell which one i want to gain access into without the alphabet.

I mean I have a lot of discs to backup, but how many you all backing up once you are caught up that you need multiple?! Must be a constant stream of backups going, and at today's hard drive prices?!
Look out for 0.10.7 |

laserheads can lose their power over time i believe.. thats why i bought a few more sets for "Standby duties" and with pioneer exiting the market for good, i was lucky enough to purchase them before the prices of pioneer drives skyrocketted. Hehehehe!!

Now just waiting for the BDR-UD02 firmware only...thats the only drive thats dead like a brick as i crossflased it to UD03, then eventually to UD04...
the laserhead mechanism stay's stuck at the extreme opposite end, instead of being placed just next to the central spindle... once that laserhead can move next to the central spindle i know it will come back from the grave.. Hehehe!! |

ok so its not responding to firmware flashes that one? Would be great to see if using flash --force does anything on my app, or if dump produces anything.

i reflashed it more than 10 times using force flash options...
flashing back and forth using ud03 firmware and ud04 firmware, but to no avail.. there were no errors at all.. firmware flashing always goes through smoothly without a hitch, but the laserhead will not go back down next to the central spindle. When it was an original ud02, it worked fine and dandy and the laserhead was positioned next to the central spindle. |

Yea quick digging it may be that the UD02 is different firmware and maybe chip revision from UD03 so it could explain the firmware responding but not being able to drive the drive. Getting hands on UD02 firmware is probably best bet.
This is why we all need to start backing up before we flash so we have and keep and share OEM firmwares. ill see if I come up with anything but I have scraped the entire internet of known sources imo. But never know |
