I have flashed a UD02 to UD04 and back again without issues (recover mode is required otherwise it blocks this cross flash by default as they are not truly compatible). UHD did NOT work, but my point is they flashed back and forth without issue. Your's may just be in an odd state, not sure how different "Slimtype EB1 HLE" are, and not sure how they were flashed in first place but I don't see any easy way to brick them by just flashing them. Recover back to UD02 should "just" work as far as I see it right now.
Your's seems to be failing before or during the flash. Something else is up. Looking |

So somebody sent me a log to go from "UD04" to Slimtype EB1 HLE", this will be fixed in next release. These are both UD04 firmware under the hood, just labeled differently and the app was catching this rename as a bad flash vs now it compares bytes and says they match, even if the label is different.
Not sure if this was you cashkey1 but Slimtype EB1 HLE is still a UD04 it seems. |

i even tried a "XS-02" firmware since it was manufactured in the same year as UD-02..
but it couldnt proceed with the flash. i know the XS is a slot loader, and the XD is a tray loader, but i thought i would just give it a try. Too Adventurous.. Hehehe! |

Since i have 3 of these UD-02 drives, i flashed one successfully to a "Asus SBC-06D2X-U" but the drive motor is still stuck at the other end instead of next to the center spindle.
and now the flasher will automatically close when i try to flash it back to a Pioneer drive. the flasher says the drive is not recognized and shuts down.. |

Id just stick with recover current as UD04, new as UD02. Do that send me the logs via the app.

Ok one of the next releases will have a "Bypass family check" or somethign in recovery. You will need to select that. Basically you flashed using a tool that shouldnt have allowed it and now my tool is tryign to prevent you doing the same (even though your going back). So a ahrd bypass on recovery will be an option with an additional verification that it can really brick you if you check it (like going from UD02 to UD04 in your case
) but it should get you back to UD02 from a UD04. So there are benefits and reasons on recovery to ignoring the family hardware check.

yes, i am willing to brick the 3 drives, already 1 drive is now converted to the asus firmware "SBC-06D2X-U" but it still cant work, plus the "flasher crashes" upon choosing that drive when i wanna flash it back to a Pioneer Drive.. So 1 drive is definately getting thrown away.. left with 2 more drives to play around with.

In your case you already went out of family by going UD02 to UD04 so we have to allow you to go out of family to get back. I think you will be fine. Again I tested on my UD02 (how I got the firmware) and flashed it to UD04 fine and back again. Not sure why your original flash to UD04 didnt work but not sure what that software does so. All i know is that a good UD04 flash can be flashed back to UD02. So I think we have hope, if your flashes were done well in first place.

cashkey1 looks like you had success? I see a nice progress of testing in the logs. End result looks like you are on UD02?
