WARNING!
DO NOT FLASH the 1.V9 firmware from the freemkv firmware page! My ASUS now identifies as ASUS_BW-16D1HT_BOOT, flash and recovery don't seem to work with either the official ASUS flasher, freemkv-flash or SDFTool Flasher. |

1.v9 is likely a firmware version with some form of protection. About a year ago, I installed them in sequence: 1.v5, 1.v7, and then 1.v9. And I mentioned a bit earlier that, so far, FreeMKV hasn't been able to create a backup from the Vinpower 1.v9 drive.

Ok, any way to recover the drive, at least to 1.V1? Or even original ASUS firmware?

Mat, It would be interesting in a future if your software will backup FW 3.11 from ASUS BW-16D1H. This fw is not available anywhere and now this is like a warranty that ASUS BW-16D1H is genuine due to now a lot of fakes

Ill look but so far no MediaTek has the capability to read the drives data that we need. So backup is just impossible at this time for all MediaTek. I try anyways, but hence the confirmation to skip backup before flashing.
I can only work with what the firmware on the drive accepts. I could flash a new firmware that adds backup, but we need an original to modify to do so. So... And I lost my BU40N trying to inject new firmware at runtime. So so far not found a way. Its similar to why MakeMKV and FreeMKV require you to flash MediaTek drives vs Pioneer you dont. Just different capabilities. |

All, if you get an error please save the full diagnostic log and share it all with me. Partial logs or no logs do not help

I think Im tracking 2 bugs, both are in non-normal paths so this isn't an issue for most imo.
Pioneer: 207 > PR1ML MediaTek: 1.V9 (its a 2 part firmware flash upgrade) Both should be more robust in 0.13.0. Oh and another wacky cross flash I now have proof on what to filter on, which is great. 205 to 206 are the same hardware family but do fail to cross flash. I could make this work, its not really hacky its just not a normal flash procedure. Not hearing anybody really wants this flash to work yet so its labeled as Future on the website (so it still shows as a cross flash just future) and flasher prevents it from flashing. Meaning it could be done if you really want me to do it and can test with me. The 205 to 206 issue for reference is the firmwares look generally compatible with the hardware, but the update code on 205 wont load the 206. Its a bit like the downgrade prevention. All will be labeled as Future on website that hit this issue though for tracking. Oh Im also adding a verified feature to website where you can all say if the firmware or the cross flash works, it will keep count of users verifying that combo and show it. Hope it helps others feel more comfortable whats been tested. Ostatnio zmieniany przez mattjackson : dzisiaj o godz. 00:33 |

Ok so 207 to PR1ML is my focus right now. Its highly asked for and seems to be an odd ball to flash. Flash succeeds but then it wont return to normal state.
Pinker Im revisiting you 1.V9 to make it 100% too but we can give it a few days to let your stress levels drop
