website should be fixed
Also all firmwares are OEM and my flasher doesn't do much different than others. The reality is I found what I think is the best way to know if firmware A and B are compatible vs the older way of a hard coded human maintained list. As discussed pros and cons to both, I put the risk on the user but allow experiments like yours to educate us all. Older software limits willing users from even trying |

thank you.
The new version of the program can restore the drive to normal operation even after a failed cross-flash attempt |

NICE! Glad the improved recovery mode worked! Did something even the OEM wouldnt do huh
cashkey1 this is probably what you will need when you find a UD02 firmware, but could be interesting to try recovery with UD03 or UD04 and see if it brings it back to life? Dont know if your flash failed for incompatibility reasons or just flash failure reasons. I dont have a UD02 to know if its the same family as UD03/4 |

I'm liking the more in depth drive information, but is this to be expected?

Great Question
Ill double check where Im pulling it from and if its correct or not.Ill also be adding edits soon so you can change region, reset counts, change the default drive speed (performance, quiet, etc). Just letting my brain cool down now the "basics" seem to be working. |

That sounds promising! Would it be possible to have a 'set all regions' option? All at once basically? I've seen this on MediaTek based drives running MK firmware.

Pretty much! The MediaTek drive I saw had it like 'Region: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8'
This might only be useful for legacy software, but still nice to have.

Oh right, regular playback software that adheres to DVD specs needs this.

Looks good! Does changing the region like this, mess with the firmware in any way? Or is the region code stored elsewhere?

Its stored elsewhere so can be changed without changing the firmware. It also wont show on the UI if you just load a firmware as its drive specific. You have to read your drive to get the info.

Got it. You've got some big QOL changes planned. Can't wait to test the new version, when it's ready!
